Eric Clay is the managing partner of MECA Commercial Real Estate, joining his father in business in 2004. Eric earned his North Carolina Real Estate Broker license and initiated his professional education through the National Association of Realtors Commercial Investment Real Estate Council to attain his Certified Commercial Investment Member designation. At this time, he has completed all required course work and is completing the non-classroom objectives. Eric has achieved many accolades and achievements through his career including #1 Sales Professional in 2017 for Coldwell Banker Commercial in the State of NC and Platinum Circle of Distinction Winner for years 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.

Eric has served in numerous community capacities in Gaston including serving on the Board of Directors for United Way, Gaston Skills, Gaston Country Club, Habitat for Humanity, Charlotte Regional Commercial Board of Realtors representing Gaston County, and the Gaston Business Association. Eric is also the Head Golf Coach for the Girls Varsity team at Gaston Christian School.

Eric has been actively involved in the commercial real estate brokerage community involving land, investment properties, office, and industrial buildings. He also is responsible for project management oversight for the company and client developments. This includes all site grading, utilities, streets and sidewalks and landscaping. Eric is the liaison between builder's representatives and the company's development projects. In his career he has been accountable for the development of multiple residential lot developments in Gaston County representing over $15,000,000 in sales and a retail strip center named Southfork Station located in Belmont.

Eric resides in Gastonia with his wife Kelley, eleven-year-old daughter Anna, and 8-year-old son Chapman. When not focusing on business he will be found on the golf course, strumming a guitar, or enjoying time with his family.
