Senior Advisor

Geoffrey Curme

Geoffrey Curme is a Senior Advisor at MECA with over 45 years of experience in commercial real estate banking, capital placement, loan servicing, asset management, property management, and brokerage. A native of Chester County, Pennsylvania, Geoffrey graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in U.S. History and began his career at The Bank of New York. He has lived in Charlotte since 1979.

Geoffrey’s extensive work has involved underwriting CRE loans (new), underwriting the price to purchase performing and non-performing CRE assets, portfolio management of high yield CRE assets, CRE fund sponsorship, capital raising and investor reporting. Loan & REO recovery work was first occasioned by the S&L crisis (early 1990’s). Fund sponsorship and investor reporting, which also involved personal co-investment, were prompted by the Great Financial Crisis.

Since joining MECA in 2019, Geoffrey has focused on commercial real estate brokerage, prioritizing timeliness, cost efficiency for buyers, and sales maximization for sellers. Known for his proactive communication and client-centered approach, he has established a reputation for excellence in the industry. Geoffrey received the Top Gun Award in 1993 for his rapid loan and REO recovery efforts along the NYC-Boston corridor and the Creative Thinkers Award in 2015 for his work in real estate recovery and revitalization of the EpiCenter in Charlotte. He was also an active participant in the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) from 2006 until 2022.

Outside of work, Geoffrey enjoys tennis, cooking, reading, and community involvement. He lives in Charlotte with his wife, Sarah, and they have four children together.
