Margaret Martin

Margaret Martin joined MECA in 1984 and is the Partnership Accountant and former CFO of the MECA Companies. Born in Williamsburg, VA, she graduated with a BS in Accounting from Florida State University. With over four decades of commercial real estate experience, Margaret has achieved many professional accomplishments, holding a North Carolina Brokers License since 1988. She has been a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, serving on the local chapter board in various leadership roles including Vice President, from 1985 to 1992. Additionally, she was an active member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) from 1995 to 2023, serving as the Charlotte Chapter President in 2003.

Throughout her career, Margaret has been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named one of the Top 25 Women in Business by Charlotte Business Journal in 2003, and finalist for their CFO of the Year Awards. In 2014, she received CREW Charlotte’s Outreach Award and was honored by The Mecklenburg Times as one of the 50 Most Influential Women.

Outside of work, Margaret is deeply committed to community service. While serving as an Elder at Avondale Presbyterian Church, she chaired the Finance Committee and has previously served as Treasurer of Avondale’s Day Care Board. Margaret has also been a mentor through the Women in Business Alumni Group and CREW Charlotte’s Mentor Program, and was an active member of the Charlotte Women’s Impact Fund from 2013 to 2023.
