Sammy Jackson

Sammy Jackson serves as a Director of Development with MECA Commercial. In addition to playing a significant role in MECA’s development strategy, Sammy advises clients on complex real estate opportunities while contributing to the firm’s overall portfolio growth. Drawing on experience across finance, development, and advisory, Sammy brings a broad perspective on real estate decisions and helps shape strategies that move opportunities forward.

Sammy began his real estate career with Bank of America in Commercial Real Estate Banking, building a strong foundation through experience in debt structuring and portfolio management. He later transitioned to real estate development with DreamKey Partners, where he gained experience leading mixed-income and affordable residential development initiatives from planning through execution.

Sammy holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Livingstone College, a Master of Business Administration from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, and a Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a licensed North Carolina General Contractor and North Carolina Real Estate Broker.

Sammy has a longstanding commitment to community leadership and service. At Bank of America, he served on the Global Commercial Bank and Global Finance Division Diversity and Inclusion Council. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Childress Klein YMCA, including as Board Development Chair and Diversity and Inclusion Champion. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Givens Aldersgate and West Side Community Land Trust, where he serves as Board Chair.

Outside of work, Sammy enjoys spending time with his partner and their two sons, as well as extended family and friends, traveling, and staying engaged in the community.
